The Online Entrepreneur's Vacation
This week, I'm off for a mini-vacation with my friend and our kids. That means 4 screaming kids under the age of 5 in a trailer, but we'll be having a blast by the beach!
And no, the laptop ISN'T coming with me, but a notebook will. I always come up with new ideas while away from the computer and I like to jot them down. I also find these breaks away from the computer to be totally rejuvinating and I'm ready to get back into things when I get back.
Are you taking a vacation COMPLETELY away from the computer this summer? Are you even able to? I think there's a lot of us who never take a true vacation because their business constantly needs them. It would be great if you could share your thoughts on what a vacation as an entrepreneur means to you.
I'd love to hear about your online entrepreneur's vacation.

Vacation? What is that? As a newbie Internet Marketer and copywriter, I find that I am working every day all day. I am obsessed, but I love what I do.
Sometimes I wonder if a vacation might just mean bringing more balance in my life, and taking time to do things with my family and friends without always thinking of the things I want to get accomplished online.
I do have several mini vacations planned.
The first is a day trip to see one of my all time favorite bluegrass artists play, in a garden ampitheater no less.
It might only be 8 hours away from the computer, but it will be enough to recharge the batteries and spend some much needed time with my 6 year old daughter, who is also looking forward to the music. She knows more of his music than I do.
Other mini trips I have planned throughout the summer include overnight camping trips to kayak in the high mountain lakes nearby. Again, these are not huge vacations, but they will be fun and will serve to remind me that my online business is not everything.
Have a great time at the beach...enjoy!
Katie
No vacation away. Hubby has no vacation time right now. But we are hoping to do little mini day trips as a family.
Yep Nell, we're doing the same thing..the mini vacations.
that said, I was away from the computer for 48 hours this weekend and it was like withdrawl..... :-) Actually I feel very refreshed now and ready to roll... it's great to have a forced break!
We're going to the beach in Charleston for 5 days next month, and I'm not taking the laptop. :)
I like the few day vacations myself. Not because of business exactly, but because I think I need those breaks several times per year. Unless, I'm going somewhere far away, I'm not up for the 2 or 3 week vacations. I like my house a lot too!
Katie, when I started, I was obsessed (using your word, of course!) like you. Now that I take more time away, I'm just as productive...actually probably MORE productive by taking those breaks.
Good luck in school, Philena. Good for you!
Have a great vacation everyone, no matter where you go...even if it's just for a long break in your backyard.
I'm just starting to pack for a little vacation my hubby and I have been dreaming about for some time... a cruise to Nova Scotia. It's only 4 nights, but that's more than enough for me since I'm not at all sure how I'll fare on a big ship with seasickness.
But one thing that is TOTALLY appealing is that we are not bringing computers, our cell phones won't get reception, and we'll have a beautiful extra large ocean-view balcony to enjoy. Sounds like heaven to me.
Barbie...have a great vacation. We're doing a 4-day on the West Coast of Canada/U.S. in October. Cruises are great fun!
Yep cruises are what we do too. We take 2 mini cruises (4-5 days) a year. Usually one in May (Our anniversary) and one in September (Cheap cruising season) We can do this very affordably since there are 5 ports of departure in the state of Florida. Can't wait til Sept. til we are off to Grand Turk ;)
