Men or Women: Which Do You Prefer...

Tough Question Tuesday
...to work with and WHY?

I'm talking about online projects, people you outsource to, etc. Who rules - the guys or the gals?

I work mainly with women and most of which are moms and there are 2 main reasons for this:

1. I know how badly WAHMs need help...we're busy people ya know! ;)

2. They are easier to work with because 90% of the time they know EXACTLY what they want...no hmmm hawing around.

That being said, the fellows have their good points too. Here's one:

1. They don't feel like chit chatting all the time.

Don't get me wrong, I like getting a bit more personal with my clients, but some days I just want to work and be done with it ya know?

I prefer to work with someone I "connect" with so it depends on the person not the sex. Right now, I'm working with more women and I'm enjoying some of the things we have in common, i.e. juggling work, family and self!

Great question!

I prefer to work with men, whether online or offline. My personality is better suited for this. Almost every woman I have worked with (I know, this is sort of a stereotype) has been sort of power hungry, and very eager to tell people what to do. They were not normally open minded, and it was their way or nothing.

Especially if it was an online project, such as marketing, article writing, or web design. They have it in their head the way they want it and by golly that is the way it will be.

Very good question.

I seem to "hang out" with more Internet marketing women and am not really sure why. I get the feeling we are more collaborative with each other and then I tend to work with more women. I also think that a lot of my projects have more appeal to women.

It's not a conscious choice, bute I definitely work with more women.

I work with more women then men. I usually try to look for other work at home moms, just because I'm one as well and like to help out a fellow WAHM when I can, but we also have to have a "connection" so to speak.

That being said I have outsourced some work to men and have had good experiences as well.

In the end it boils down to the person and their work ethics and not the gender for me.

“Since my business is designed for WAHMs, I work with women and love it.

I think it’s important to have the same goals, respect each other, and be supportive of each other, no matter which gender you work with.”

I would say women even though I am a man.

1. Many men in business are too "business" like and don't like to joke around. I often find women more "relaxed" and willing to exchange a few jokes in a business meeting.

2. Women may not always arrive at a decision quite as fast as some men do, but they spell out their requirements better before they get started with a project. This helps.

It fluctuates. Sometimes I have the same number of both sexes in the team sometimes I have more women. Since I work with tech a lot working with men is inevitable. Tech is still very male-centric.

Generally more women because of my involvment in the entpreneurial mothers market. But I don't consider gender when hiring. It's the experience, the skill set and how well they can handle my lashing muahahah! ;)

I am not that difficult to work for. Really! I'm not.
