Holiday Giveaways – Are The Really Free?
You know, I’m not a huge fan of these. They are over-bloated offers with a ton of stuff you’ll never use and most of the time you have to jump through hoops to get your “free stuff.”
Ultimately, it is a list-building exercise for many of the participants, but I know a lot of people still love these offers. So…sign up at your own discretion, but if you love free stuff…you might find some gems in here:
• Giant Giveaway Internet Marketing Style
• Rich Sage 2008 Make Money Online Contest
• Ultimate PLR Giveaway
• Mark’s Big Christmas Giveaway
• Santa Sal’s Christmas
• Start the New Year Right
• Santa Deal Time - Not completely free but a HUGE savings on some nice IM tools.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your new goodies.

I'm not hot on these either, promoted only Sean Wu's 'Operation Blackbox' event (www.OperationBlackbox.org) and am doing 'A Gift Every Day Until Christmas' exclusively to my existing subscribers as a genuine 'thank you' for being loyal readers.
Two years back, I wrote an article about handling these events, though. It's here:

My biggest beef with things like this is that if I find something I do think would be useful & fill out my info to get the item the next thing I know my inbox is FULL of one email after the other and it's totally annoying! So I just pretty much stay away from them now.
Definitely, Tishia. That's what free email addresses are for. I know some people would be burn me at the stake for that advice, especially since I also market via email to other marketers. But seriously, you've got to protect your email inbox, especially when you aren't 100% sure of what you're getting. Once the person has delivered value, you can them let them into your regular inbox.
Although there's no such thing as a free lunch, I do think you can get some valuable information for free.
My wife found a website to help me lose weight http://www.weightlossdude.com It's really good, but she's set it as my home page and I can't figure out how to change it! If I wasn't so trusting I'd think she was trying to tell me something!
