Looks great! Gotta see if I can dig up $7. :)

Will the reports delivered through the report club have resell rights, too?

It'd be great to have you, Shannon. Yes, the reports in the Club will have resell rights for sure.

Hello Alice,
I am a huge fan of yours and I know that you mean well offering this product to us, but what’s up with the resell rights? When I think of resell rights I think of junk products. Not to say your product is a junk product.
If the people wanting to buy this product are guilty of:

If you're guilty of being a social network hopper, a domain-aholic, you're always looking for the next best thing or are simply having trouble getting your business to where you want to be - take heart.

You most certainly aren't alone and that's why I created this guide to help you with many of the obstacles online business owners face...and you can download it right away for a quick and easy $10...and the regained focus you'll get it is priceless.

And then to offer these people resell rights probably is not the best thing for them to go out and sell to the Internet marketing/make money niche -- the most highly competitive niche out there!

Plus, resell rights in general aren’t that great. You can’t change anything to make it yours. PLR is a step up, but then you have to worry if your competitor is offering the same ebook (or software, article packs, etc.) at a cheaper price, and what will your customers think? They might think my business is cheap for not having a unique product if they find out that my ebook is the exact same ebook as Jake’s just a different ebook graphic cover.

Anyways Alice, I hope to see you get rid of the PLR and resell right stuff because I think in the end it doesn’t benefit as much as we would like to think.

On a lighter note, I enjoy your material and think you are awesome and I hope it doesn’t look like I am being totally negative, but it’s just I have had horrible nightmare problems with PLR and resell rights and don’t take a good liking to them. :(

Take care.

Hey anonymous, you should leave your name. :-(

I do appreciate the positive feedback and the questions. Just would be nice to know who I'm talking to.

I'll answer PLR and resell rights separately.

1. Let's start with the resell rights and I'll give it to you from my own selfish perspective coupled with my willingness to help perspective.

To start with, these reports stand on their own and I'd sell them without the resell rights...but I have a couple reasons for offering the rights.

Honestly, I agree with you generally when it comes to resell rights and the quality you find. As you'll note, my main products have no such rights. It is only these short reports that I'll be sending out once per month.

By offering the rights, I'm not attempting encourage anyone to get started in the money-making niche, but I'm a fool to think that a lot of my customers and readers aren't already doing just that.

Whether they're Internet marketing teachers, virtual assistants, programmers, web hosts, bookkeepers or membership site owners - a good chunk of them are involved in helping others with their online presence in some way. For those who aren't, they can get the report, read it and apply it to their businesses.

I get asked for rights to sell my main products all the time, which I don't give, but thought this was as good way to give them just a little bit.

My hope is that people don't try to get out there and peddle the reports as stand-alone products, but that they add them into an existing product as a valuable bonus.

For example, my last report was on blogging and it was purchased by a lot of people interested in blogging, but also by a number of people that I know already sell blog-related stuff and services. They can now insert something by Alice Seba - of whom they happen to be a fan (I say that humbly, of course, and for lack of a better word). I see no problem in that.

And selfishly-speaking, I wanted to see how this might be a good promotional strategy for me. After all, my name and web address is in the report...so I do get some publicity back. But I didn't put any ads in the report or turn it into something all about me. There is no mention of resell rights in the report, nor do I plug any products. It's just a simple piece of content people can provide their customers with.

My resell rights are strictly extended ONLY to the person who buys directly from me. I think where the water gets really muddy and you see the same crap all over the place is when the purchaser also has rights to sell resell rights. No way!

As far as changing anything goes, you're right. These reports don't have the right to change a single thing. My name is on them and I don't want anyone messing up my message. ;-)

Yet, the value is still there, IMHO. If a purchaser who intends to redistribute the report admires my work, the ability to give a valuable piece of information written by me to their customers is valuabe. Add to that the fact that this offer will be removed on Monday, there is little chance of saturation.

I just think that if John Reese or some other marketer I admired offered something similar...I'd jump all over it. I wouldn't sell it as a stand-alone product, but add it into something else I was already selling.

2. For the PLR stuff, I'm afraid I just don't agree with you and you won't be seeing it go away.

As a person who has used PLR extensively on a number of projects outside of my Internet Marketing Sweetie business, I find it to be a very valuable resource. From adding it to content sites, using snippets for emails, shaping content into reports and ebooks...it serves a variety of purposes.

And clearly, I'm not alone in my love for PLR as it is in big demand. On our private forum, we share the ways that we use our PLR and it's amazing how creatively people incorporate it into their thriving businesses.

I can understand if you've had a bad experience. There is some really bad PLR out there and a lot of it is circulated so much that the value is diminished.

As far as resell rights go, I'm afraid I don't have any experience trying to sell anything as a stand-alone product...but I have added resell items that I have reviewed and deemed to valuable to membership areas or bonuses to other stand alone products.

Overall, unless the person giving the rights has way oversold and allowed others to sell the rights too, the chance of people purchasing duplicate products are minimal. Of course, it can and does happen...and in that case, you refund their money and move on.

Again, thanks for your feedback and I hope I've explained my reasoning to your satisfaction, at least on the resell rights for these reports. I'm thinking we won't see eye-to-eye on the PLR, but we can probably agree to disagree.

Anonymous, you're concerned that some of Alice's customers will get distracted by resell rights but if you think about it, it has probably already happened with her affiliate program.

I had a gal with a primary business that involved selling hair care products trying to use my affiliate program to make extra money on her website. It didn't make any sense, wouldn't work, was a definite distraction - but she learned so much from my product she wanted to share it somehow with others.

I'm not going to close my affiliate program because a few get distracted by it - instead I'm going to keep teaching them how to stay focused and hope that the message gets through :)

Same for resell rights. Some will try to resell these reports who shouldn't - but that doesn't mean offering resell rights is wrong.
